Overcome your Self Limiting Beliefs

Our beliefs are the foundation for our life. Our every action and every decision based on our beliefs. If we believe that we can never be good at singing, we tend to avoid it. If we believe that owning a business is not our cup of tea, we will never explore the dimensions.

Many times, it is our self-limiting beliefs that stop us to follow our dreams. They create doubts and fears inside of us. Due to these self-limiting beliefs, we make excuses before trying new things in life. Let us see how we can break the chain of self-limiting beliefs.

Source of Self-limiting beliefs:

Like our habits, we form many beliefs in our childhood as well. Beliefs are like the collection of patterns existed in our subconscious mind. These patterns formed by internal or external sources.

What we repeatedly told we believe. If we check, we can realize that most of our beliefs are self-limiting. They show that you are not capable of doing something. When we were kids, we have taken most of our beliefs from parents and elders. Now when we have grown up, we create most of these beliefs based on our friends and surroundings.

When we see so much failure around us, we make a belief system in our mind that success is difficult. Some of the beliefs come from the negative people around the world. Some of the beliefs we grab from our experiences or even our family.

Overcome your Self Limiting beliefs:

Analyze yourself. Answer some simple questions.

Are you doing what you want to do? Do you fear pursuing your dreams? Do you fear taking risks? Do you always doubt your potential?

If yes, your mind is filled with self-limiting beliefs.

If you already hold something in both of your hands, how can you take new gifts from life? Similarly, you cannot put other beliefs until you empty old beliefs first. Pick them one by one and put it away.

“Do the thing you fear, and the death of fear is certain” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Do one thing every day that you fear. If your fear is too big, take one little step everyday. Replace each of your negative thoughts with positive. If you really want to do something, do it. Do not see what the world will say. It always says something.

There may be 10 reasons why it should not work. Nevertheless, can you see one reason why it should work? Then go ahead. Fortune favours the brave.

“Believe in yourself, take on your challenges, dig deep within yourself to conquer fears. Never let anyone bring you down. You got to keep going.” ~ Chantal Sutherland

Most of us believe that we are not capable to make life decisions independently. Do you depend too much on others?

When we were kids, we were not able to take our decisions. Therefore, parents helped us. They take us for shopping. They decided which school provides the best education for us. They decided which food is better for our health. Now you have grown up, right. Make your decisions independently.

Do you still depend too much on your friends to decide your next vacation place? Do you still ask many times from friends, which phone is better? Do you follow your friends to decide your career? It is all right to take suggestions, but follow your own instincts to make a final decision. Do what your heart says.

There may be mistakes, but it is all right. Learn from them and go ahead. It is your life, live it in your way.

Explore the Possibilities:

The world is full of possibilities. Just because others could not, it does not mean that you cannot. You are not him. You have different potential than others. Do it in your own way.

You want to run own business, but holding your jobs since 10 years. You promised many times yourself to work on it after a couple of years. However, you keep breaking your promises. Why limit yourself to your regular job while you can do lot more. Break that pattern. Do not doubt your potential. Remind yourself of the great things that you had done in the past. You can do it again.

Decide what you want to do. Experiment with things. If something is not working in one way, there could be another way. Believe in Yourself. You have the power within.

“If you believe in yourself and have dedication and pride – and never quit, you’ll be a winner. The price of victory is high but so are the rewards.” ~ Paul Bryant
